Bali meeting is crucial to reducing pollution

The United Nation’s top climate change official says the world will be in deep trouble if a Bali meeting next month on reducing global emissions fails.

Yvo de Boer, stressed that the international community is fighting against time in a bid to stem global warming.

The meeting in Bali, gathering members of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change will develop a path for negotiating pollution cuts to be implemented after 2012 when the Kyoto Protocol pledges run out.
